Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Professional Eyecare the leading provider of vision care products and services in Ord.

Dr. Roger McCartney

Dr. McCartney grew up in Basset, Nebraska. Dr. McCartney completed his undergraduate studies at Wayne State. He was awarded the Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry where he graduated with honors. Dr. McCartney is a member of the North Loup Lions Club, American Optometric Association, Nebraska Optometric Association. He has been in practice in Ord since 1975 and participates in various programs to enhance the visual welfare of our youth such as See To Learn, Infant See, and See to Read. As a member of the State Board of Examiners in Optometry for 11 years he had the opportunity to not only welcome new Optometrists into our state but to help protect the visual welfare of Nebraskans. Dr. McCartney’s interests include travel and spending time at the lake.

Dr. Brandon Blair

Dr. Blair grew up in Benkelman, Nebraska. He completed his undergraduate studies at Doane College. Dr. Blair was awarded the Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry where he graduated with honors. Dr. Blair is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Nebraska Optometric Association. Dr. Blair specializes in helping people with low vision. Dr. Blair’s interests outside of the office include coaching youth sports, spending time at the lake, and spending time with his family. Dr. Blair and his wife, Holly, have a daughter named Britan and sons named Bronson, Brody and Bond.


Dr. Dorsey picDr. Mindy Dorsey

Dr. Dorsey grew up in Arcadia, Nebraska. She attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln and continued on to Indiana University College of Optometry. In 2002 she was awarded the Doctor of Optometry degree. Following graduation Dr. Dorsey joined a multi-doctor practice in Keene, New Hampshire. In 2006, Dr. Dorsey and her husband made the decision to return home to Nebraska where she started a solo optometric practice in Ord. Dr. Dorsey joined forces with Professional Eyecare in 2015. Dr. Dorsey lives on their farm with her husband and two children.

Bonnie McCartney, CPO

Bonnie has been with Professional Eyecare since 1975 serving patients in the North Loup Valley. As marketing coordinator it is Bonnies goal to educate patients on the importance of quality eyecare as it relates to their visual health. Professional eyecare provides a wide variety of services and Bonnie is always happy to explain the new technology we utilize. Bonnie helps coordinate regular education for the Doctors and staff to ensure that our patients receive the latest techniques.

Christine Simon, CPOA

Christine grew up in Burwell. She graduated from Mid Plains Community College with a degree in Optometric Assisting in 1983. She has been in the optical field since 1994. Christine is a Certified Paraoptometric Assistant. She has experience with contact lenses, eyeglass frames and new lens technology. Christine’s hobbies include reading and spending time with her family. She has a son Jeremy. Jeremy and his wife Andrea have four daughters, Faith, Hannah, Kylee, and Katelynn.

Shaina Jensen, Paraoptometric

Shaina grew up in North Loup and graduated from North Loup Scotia High. She is married to Josh,  they have two daughters, Harper and Leighton. She joined Professional Eyecare in November 2015. You will often find Shaina working with our patient in the clinic. She has experience with contact lenses, and much of our newest technology. Shaina’s hobbies include playing and watching sports, going to the lake and spending as much time with her family.

Michelle (Shelley) Sheldon, CPOA, CPOC

Shelley is a former business owner of 17 years in Ord. She is the Finance Specialist and handles the insurance at our office. She is a Certified Paraoptometric Assistant and also Certified Paraoptometric Coder. She is married to Kevin and has two children McKenna and Tyler.

Caitlin Kasselder, Paraoptometric

Caitlin grew up in Wisner Ne. She graduated from Wisner-Pilger High School. She moved to Ericson with her husband Klay. She joined Professional Eyecare in August and has been a great asset to the team. Her favorite part is working with children as they come in for their first eye exam. As well as educating patients about the technology being used. In her free time she enjoys being outdoors, shopping and spending time with her family.

Alesha Gregory,Front Desk

Alesha joined our team in April 2014.  She enjoys greeting the patients as they come in and is happy to schedule a convenient appointment for you. She is always willing to help in the selection  of frames for our patients.  In her spare time she enjoys riding horses and spending time with her significant other.

Zac was born and raised in Central City, NE. After graduating from Central City High School he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served one tour of duty in the Middle East. He is married to Alex and has two children; a boy named Shawn, and a girl named Faithe. He is also expecting his third to be born in March 2017. Zac joined our team in August 2016 and works in the Optical Dispensary. His hobbies include reading, writing, playing guitar, riding his motorcycle, and, of course, spending time with his wife and children.

Pedro joined Professional Eyecare in June of 2016. He was born in San Diego, California. He graduated from Ord Jr. Sr. High School. Pedro enjoys spending time with the patients and learning more about them to ensure they feel welcomed and comfortable in our office. He is always learning new information about optometry as he has aspirations to go to Optometry School and become a doctor. Pedro also handles our social media advertising as well as some of our local advertising.
